Q. How can I rent a computer?

A. You just need your NetID, RUID and be an actively enrolled student.

Q. What type of computers do you rent?

A. At the moment, we’re renting Apple computers.

Q. What is the longest I can rent the computer?

A. At the moment, we’re only doing up to a semester before the computer needs to be returned. You can come back at the beginning of the semester and rent it again for another semester.

Q. Can I put my data on the computer?

A. Yes. We always advise you to back up your information. The computer is erased once it’s returned and there wouldn’t be a way to retrieve it.

Q. When do I know when I have to return it?

A. You will have an end date when it’s rented. You will be notified one week prior to your return.

Q. What happens if I return it late or forget to return it?

A. The computer will be automatically locked, preventing access to your data. It may also impact your eligibility to rent in the future. If it’s not returned, you might not be able to register for future classes and will be charged $999 for the computer.

Q. What if I drop it or liquid falls on the computer?

A. There is an accidental fee of $99 for a cracked screen and $299 for anything beyond that, including liquid damage.

Q. Are you able to track the computer if I misplace it?

A. No. You will have the ability to sign into Find My.
